Take care of the fish, and the fishing will take care of itself.
Hidden Lake Dam Renovation - Carter Mountain
An old wooden dam structure had deteriorated
and failed. Members used a bobcat and hand
tools, earth, rock and geotextiles to raise the
dam about 2.5 feet. This took the dam back up to
its original height, improving fish habitat at the
lake.
As usual, TU worked in collaboration with the
Shoshone National Forest and the Wyoming
Game and Fish Department on the project.
Replanting Old Husky Refinery Site
Trout Unlimited members replanted
the banks of the Shoshone River
with willows to stabilize.
Fencing Project - TE Ranch
This fencing project protected critical
brown trout spawning habitat on a
spring creek, while still allowing cattle
access for watering.

Weed Spray Day - Newton
Lakes
An invasive species,
Houndstongue, was
discovered at Newton
Lakes. Mary McKinney,
Assistant Supervisor at
Park County Weed and
Pest guided TU volunteers
spraying in June 2008.
Spot spraying is the only
way to control this weed
until a biological agent can
be developed.
